The
The "Ugly" 80's

The London 2012 logo should be banned and redesigned.

There was a design done by a freelancer who offered it for free, which was 20000 times better than the one that cost millions to design, and the commission turned it down.

Which i think was the worst decision, and their 2012 TV ads gave people epileptic fits.

Bad design to the max!

i like this logo, it's different, it's UK, it's PUNK~!

Outrageous? Exciting? Rude? PUNK? Yes, the London 2012 logo is all of those things; unfortunately, the Olympics aren't. There's no reason to use shock value to gain recognition for such an established and serious event. That logo is a total failure of design that in no way represents anything the Olympics stand for.

London 2012 is a quite modern design. It is projected to be recogniseble in the future. This is already becoming an actuall tendency. 4 years from now it's gonna be in fashion. You'll see.

In my own opinion i believe that this logo is an utter waste of space and time. It's outrageous! What does it show to relate to our country?
People say it shows the UK, but i cannot see it. I'm a school student who takes lessons in Design and Technology, 1 year ago when i was in year 9 our school had a competition to create a much more exciting logo and we absolutely demolished this logo. The creators of this should be just embarassed. And i totally agree to "Anonymous" - "that logo is a total failure of design that in no way represents anything the Olympics stand for."

Whoa! The London 2012 logo is... unbelievable. Even an average 7 year old kid can make something more appealing. If that's modern then we're doomed. My design skills are awful but even I can come up with a better logo. The ones who approved it must be either completely morons or getting a lot of money for it - or both.

The London 2012 logo is an abomination, it looks like the designer forgot that it's 2012, not 1982.

The colours are gaudy, the design is unappealing and dated, and they payed way to much for it.

I think the London Olympics logo has merit. Give this a few years and its will be regarded as a classic. Do we really want to keep treading the same worn paths of trends in logo design? At last we have something new and interesting to talk about. The best logo is a controversial logo.

that wacom logo is the ugliest thing ive ever seen......right next to the new pepsi logo. FAIL

The 2012 Olympics Logo is simple and effective. Its got that letter style that was present in a lot of old school London graffiti, with the blocky straight letter and thin drop shadow. Lots of sports brands are going back to the retro look and I think it will represent the 2012 Olympics in time to come.
